A 100 year old kerosene railroad switch lantern mounted on steel pipe. Features an old railroad wheel at the base. The railroad crossing works as the switch. The lamp turns on when the crossing is in a horizontal position.
The lantern was manufactured in Montreal by The Hiram L. Piper Co. Ltd. Likely between 1918 and 1923 when the Canadian National Railways were built.
